PMI Aims to Improve Customer Service with Alexa Skills
Project Management Institution (PMI®) is a global not for profit organization committed to providing a standard learning platform in various functional spectrums like Project Management and Business Analysis. PMI® continuously strives to connect professionals with the means to improve and grow in their careers with certifications, researches, and seminars. Especially known for its advancements in the Project management field, PMI® governs certifications like PMP®, CAPM®, PMI-ACP®, PgMP®, etc.
PMI® has been experimenting and taking multiple steps lately to add value to the certification life cycle. What started as an attempt to make certification examinations convenient has evolved into a project to improve the whole certification process. In the latest advancement, PMI® has announced the launch of Alexa Skills, an Amazon AI-Powered Voice Service that aims to make it easier for the customers to get their questions answered.
Earlier in the year, PMI® had associated with Pearson, increasing the number of test centers to 5000. PMI® had also introduced a proctored exam option for CAPM® and PMI-ACP® certifications. While the earlier attempts were designed to improve the examination experience alone, the launch of Alexa skills will enhance the overall process of customer registration.
The new Alexa Skills is said to provide a range of services ranging from providing answers to Frequently Asked Questions, attending to request for information of services, membership costs renewals and benefits to providing requirement needs for PMI® associated certifications.
Mr. Sunil Prashara, President and CEO of the Project Management Institute commented that PMI® is committed to exploring the advancements in AI and voice technology to provide a robust service to the customers exactly when they require.
Voice technologies are extensively being used in almost all the business sectors and functionalities and are gaining popularity by the hours. Several surveys support the fact that the appreciation for voice technologies has increased drastically in recent years. Capgemini Research Institute has indicated that in the coming years, the preference of voice assist technologies over mobile apps or websites is going to increase by 40%.
PMI® Customer Care skill is now available through Alexa skill store for all the Alexa-enabled devices. PMI® is also planning to expand the scope of the application of voice technologies to the creation of customizable Flash briefings and integrating user authentication to provide a personalized experience. While the implementation of voice technology is going to make a substantial shift in customer experience, PMI® is planning to take it a step further by introducing the service to other devices like Google Assist along with adding conversational capabilities with other globally popular messaging platforms like Wechat and WhatsApp.
While working on the improvement spectrum, PMI® has already announced the change in PMP® exam outline from December 15th to improve the relevance to the requirements of the project management spectrum of today.
